The Minnesota Humane Society, in partnership with an animal control
holding facility serving several metro area communities, rescues all
unclaimed animals after their five day impound period. These
unclaimed animals are spayed or neutered, vaccinated and receive any
needed medical attention. Because the Minnesota Humane Society does
not operate its own shelter, we have developed associations with
various Twin Cities no-kill organizations and our rescued animals are
placed into their adoption programs.
Unfortunately due to the pet overpopulation problem, there are times
when no space is available in these no-kill programs. Thankfully
there are foster homes for those times or when a medical condition
requires recuperation in a quiet home.
The
Minnesota Humane Society would like to expand its pound rescue
program and save more lives. In order to do so, more foster homes
are needed. If you can open your home to an animal in need, please
fill out a
foster application.
