The public needs to
be informed of animal cruelty cases and made aware of the action
taken against animal abusers. Unfortunately many times charges
are not pressed against the abuser, or the abuser is not
sentenced to the fullest extent of the law. Animal cruelty must
be taken seriously, not only for the sake of the abused animals,
but also for the safety of the public. Studies have shown
that those who abuse animals also commit crimes against humans.
