On Tuesday, February 19th, hundreds of animal lovers converged on the state capitol to rally state legislators to pass the Dog and Cat Breeder Regulation Bill (H.F. 84 / S.F. 36 ). The chant of supporters could be heard throughout the capitol. Speakers included a surprise visit by Governor Mark Dayton who pledged his support and bill sponsors, Representative John Lesch, and Senators John Marty and Scott Dibble.
The Minnesota Humane Society participated in the rally along with other coalition members. Invisible leashes provided by the Minnesota Humane Society were given to rally goers to represent all the unseen dogs suffering in Minnesota's puppy mills.
